Señor Wooly Privacy Policy
We substantially updated this Privacy Policy in September 2026 to make our privacy practices clearer and more specific. Among other changes, we clarified what student information we collect, how Google and ClassLink sign-in works, how long student data is retained, how schools and districts can request deletion, how we protect student information, and how we use de-identified data. We also added more information about payment processing and our use of generative AI.
These updates are primarily intended to provide greater transparency about our existing practices.

Our Privacy Principles
- We have been committed to protecting student privacy since the founding of our company in 2009. We collect only the limited student information necessary to provide the Señor Wooly service.
- We never sell users' personal information or share it for advertising purposes.
- We never track users' online behavior outside of Señor Wooly.
- We do not market or intentionally sell products to students.
- We do not send users' personal information to generative AI services or use users' personal information to train generative AI models.
- We comply with applicable privacy laws governing our services, including COPPA and FERPA where applicable.
Overview
Wooly Learning, Inc. (“Señor Wooly,” “Wooly Learning,” “our,” “us,” or “we”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users' personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and disclose it, how we protect it, how long we retain it, and the choices available to users, schools, and districts.

Our Terms and Conditions govern use of the Señor Wooly service and include additional provisions concerning school and district use, student records, licenses, and permitted use of Señor Wooly content.

What Information Do We Collect?
The information we collect depends on how you use Señor Wooly.
Educators and Other Adult Account Holders
We may collect information such as your name, email address, school or organization, account information, purchase information, and communications with us.
We may also collect information necessary to provide customer support, process transactions, administer promotions or surveys, and operate and improve our services.
Students
We collect only the limited information necessary to provide the Señor Wooly service. Student information is described in detail in the Student Privacy section below.
Website Usage Information
Like many websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to operate our website, remember preferences, and understand how our services are used. More information is provided in the Cookies section below.
Customer and Student Data
Señor Wooly does not claim ownership of student information or educational activity data provided by or generated on behalf of schools, districts, educators, or students.
We process this information only as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and support the Señor Wooly service and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.
How Do We Use Personal Information?
We may use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Señor Wooly service.
- Create and manage accounts.
- Personalize the user experience and provide appropriate educational content.
- Track student progress and provide results to students and their educators.
- Process purchases and transactions.
- Provide customer service and technical support.
- Administer surveys, promotions, contests, or other website features.
- Understand how our services are used and improve them.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent security issues, abuse, or fraud.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We may use adult account-holder information to send marketing and promotional communications related to Wooly Learning, Inc. We do not use student personal information for marketing or advertising.
Adult users may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link included in our marketing emails.
Single Sign-On (SSO) Authentication Services
If a user chooses to register for or sign in to Señor Wooly using a third-party authentication service such as Google or ClassLink, we receive limited information from that service to authenticate the user and connect the sign-in with the correct Señor Wooly account.
Google Sign-In for Students
For students who use Google to sign in, we receive a unique Google account identifier. This identifier allows us to recognize the same Google account on future sign-ins and connect it to the correct Señor Wooly account.
When a student first creates a Señor Wooly account using Google, we also receive the student's name to pre-populate the student's Señor Wooly profile. The student's name is received for initial account creation and is not continually synchronized with the student's Google account.
We do not receive the student's Google email address.
We do not access Google Classroom, Google Drive, Google Contacts, or other Google account data.
We use the Google account identifier only to authenticate the student and associate the student's Google sign-in with the correct Señor Wooly account. We use the student's name to create the initial Señor Wooly profile.
We do not sell Google user data, use Google user data for advertising, or use Google user data for purposes unrelated to providing the Señor Wooly service.
We do not share, transfer, or disclose Google user data to third parties except when required by law.
Google user data is protected using the safeguards described in this Privacy Policy and is subject to the student retention and deletion practices described below.
ClassLink Sign-In for Students
For students who use ClassLink to sign in, we receive a unique ClassLink account identifier. This identifier allows us to recognize the same ClassLink account on future sign-ins and connect it to the correct Señor Wooly account.
We do not receive the student's ClassLink email address.
We use the ClassLink account identifier only to authenticate the student and associate the student's ClassLink sign-in with the correct Señor Wooly account.
We do not sell ClassLink user data, use ClassLink user data for advertising, or use ClassLink user data for purposes unrelated to providing the Señor Wooly service.
We do not share, transfer, or disclose ClassLink user data to third parties except when required by law.
Payment Processing
We use third-party providers to process online purchases. Our checkout is provided by FoxyCart, which stores payment card information when necessary to process purchases and support payment functionality. Payments are processed through Stripe.
Wooly Learning, Inc. does not receive or retain customers' full payment card information.
Payment information handled by FoxyCart and Stripe is subject to their respective privacy and security practices.
Sharing and Disclosure of Personal Information
We do not sell personal information or disclose it to third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes.
We may disclose adult account-holder information to service providers when necessary to operate our business and provide services, including processing purchases and payments.
Student personal information is subject to the more restrictive practices described in the Student Privacy section below.
We may also disclose information when required by applicable law or when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with legal obligations, enforce our policies, investigate fraud or security issues, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Wooly Learning, Inc., our users, or others.
How Do We Protect Personal Information?
Wooly Learning, Inc. maintains administrative, technical, physical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
Access to personal information is restricted to authorized personnel who require access to perform their job responsibilities and who are required to maintain its confidentiality.
Information transmitted to or from our services is encrypted in transit. We also use security measures designed to protect information stored in our systems.
No Internet service or method of electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should therefore use care when deciding what information to send by email or through support requests.
If we become aware of a security incident involving student personal information, we will investigate the incident, take appropriate steps to mitigate its effects, and notify affected schools or districts in accordance with applicable law and our contractual obligations.
Cookies
We use cookies to operate our website and services, remember preferences, and understand how our services are used.
Session cookies exist only while your browser is open and are used for functions such as maintaining a logged-in session or remembering items in a shopping cart.
Persistent cookies may remain after you close your browser and can help us remember preferences and understand how users interact with our services.
We may use service providers to assist us in understanding website usage. These providers may use information collected on our behalf only as necessary to provide services to us.
You can configure your browser to warn you when cookies are being sent or to disable some or all cookies. Disabling cookies may prevent some Señor Wooly features from functioning properly.

Data Access, Correction, and Deletion
Adult users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information by contacting us at [email protected].
Schools and districts may request access to, correction of, or deletion of student personal information associated with their accounts.
Schools and districts may also request immediate deletion of all student personal information associated with their account at any time, including when their relationship with Señor Wooly ends.
Schools and educators may manage and delete certain student information directly through Señor Wooly.
Teachers may also access and download available student educational data using functionality provided by Señor Wooly, including through expired-account access, subject to applicable retention and deletion requirements.
We may retain limited adult information when required by law or when reasonably necessary for legitimate business purposes, such as maintaining financial transaction records.
Specific retention and deletion practices for student information are described below.
Student Privacy
Señor Wooly is an educational service used by schools, districts, educators, and students. We take student privacy seriously and comply with applicable student privacy laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”), where applicable.
Services provided to students are provided for the use and benefit of students and their schools or districts and not for unrelated commercial purposes.
FERPA and School Control
When Señor Wooly receives student information from or on behalf of a school or district, we use that information only to provide the educational services authorized by the school or district.
Where applicable under FERPA, Wooly Learning, Inc. acts as a school official with a legitimate educational interest in the student information necessary to provide the Señor Wooly service and remains under the school's or district's direct control with respect to the use and maintenance of education records.
We do not use or redisclose personally identifiable information from education records for unauthorized purposes.
What Information Do We Collect From Students?
Depending on how the student's account is created and used, this may include:
- The student's first name.
- The first letter of the student's last name.
- The student's school.
- An account authentication identifier.
- Information generated through use of Señor Wooly, such as activity progress, answers, results, and scores.
Teachers have the option to enable the use of students' full last names. Teachers should enable this option only when permitted by their school or district.
If a teacher, school, or district disables the use of students' full last names, those full last names are permanently deleted from our systems.
Student information may be provided by the student, the student's educator, school, or district, or an authentication service such as Google or ClassLink as described in the Single Sign-On (SSO) Authentication Services section above.
We do not knowingly collect personal email addresses directly from children age 13 or younger.
Students do not upload or create personal content on Señor Wooly.
How Do We Use Student Information?
We use student personal information only as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, support, and troubleshoot the Señor Wooly service.
Student names and similar identifying information allow educators to distinguish students within their classes.
Authentication identifiers allow students to sign in and connect to the correct Señor Wooly account.
Student activity information, including progress, answers, results, and scores, is used to provide educational activities and allow students and their educators to view progress and results.
We do not use student personal information for marketing, behavioral advertising, or the creation of commercial profiles unrelated to providing the Señor Wooly educational service.
We do not send student personal information to generative AI services or use student personal information to train generative AI models.
Do We Sell or Share Student Information?
We do not sell student personal information.
We do not disclose student personal information to third parties for advertising, marketing, or other commercial purposes.
We may use service providers to operate and support Señor Wooly. Where a service provider processes student personal information on our behalf, we require that provider to protect the information and limit its use to providing services to Wooly Learning, Inc. or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.
We may disclose student information when required by law. To the extent legally permitted, we will notify the applicable school or district before making a legally required disclosure and will disclose only the information legally required.
De-Identified Student Data
Wooly Learning, Inc. may use de-identified student activity data internally for development, testing, quality assurance, and improvement of the Señor Wooly service.
This data does not identify individual students and is not shared outside Wooly Learning, Inc.
Student Data Retention and Deletion
We retain student information while the student is actively using Señor Wooly.
A student is considered active when the student logs in to or otherwise uses the Señor Wooly service. Student activity includes logging in as well as completing or interacting with activities on Señor Wooly.
Teachers can also delete students from their accounts. When a student is permanently deleted, all of the student's associated personal information and educational activity data, including answers, results, scores, authentication information, and other information generated through use of the service, are deleted from our systems.
Schools and districts may request immediate deletion of all student personal information associated with their accounts at any time.
The automatic 18-month deletion policy applies to student accounts. Teacher and other adult account-holder data is not currently subject to this automatic 18-month deletion process. Adult account holders may request deletion of their personal information by contacting us.
How Do We Protect Student Information?
Student information is protected using the administrative, technical, and physical safeguards described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.
We restrict access to student personal information to authorized Wooly Learning, Inc. personnel who require access to provide or support the Señor Wooly service.
Children Under 13 and COPPA
Where permitted by COPPA, a school or district may act as a parent's agent and consent to the collection of a child's personal information on the parent's behalf when that information is used for an educational purpose and not for another commercial purpose.
Wooly Learning, Inc. does not require a child to disclose more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in the Señor Wooly service.
We do not knowingly collect personal email addresses directly from children age 13 or younger.
Child Usage of Single Sign-On
If a child registers or signs in using an authentication service such as Google or ClassLink, the authentication method is selected or made available by the educator, school, or district.
The information we receive through these services is limited to the information necessary to authenticate the student and associate the sign-in with the correct Señor Wooly account, as described in the Single Sign-On (SSO) Authentication Services section above.
Parent Requests
Because Señor Wooly provides its student service on behalf of schools and districts, parents who wish to access or correct their child's information should generally contact their child's school or district.
Parents who wish to request deletion should also generally contact the school or district. Schools and districts may submit appropriate requests to Wooly Learning, Inc.
Where applicable law provides a parent, guardian, or eligible former student with a right to make a deletion request directly to Wooly Learning, Inc., we will process that request in accordance with applicable law.
California Privacy Rights for Minors
California law provides certain rights relating to the personal information of minors.
Where California law provides a parent, guardian, or eligible former student with a right to request deletion of student information directly from an online educational service, Wooly Learning, Inc. will process eligible requests in accordance with applicable law.
Because students do not publicly post content on Señor Wooly, California provisions specifically concerning removal of publicly posted content generally have limited application to the Señor Wooly student service.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we make material changes, we will provide appropriate notice as required by applicable law.
For schools, districts, and other educational organizations with an active contractual relationship with Wooly Learning, Inc., changes to this Privacy Policy will not materially diminish the contractual protections applicable to their student data during the then-current contractual term. A separately executed agreement will continue to control to the extent it conflicts with this Privacy Policy.
The effective date and last-updated date at the top of this policy indicate when the current version took effect and was most recently revised.
