Hi friends,

This summer, I re-edited a few of my older videos. In this newsletter, I'll give you a detailed list of everything I changed.

But first, if you'd like to understand the rationale for these changes, please check out of my 6-minute gazebo chat
Wooly on 45
6-minute video on turning 45 and finding instantaneous enlightenment.
But if you're short on time and wish to skip the editorial, read below for a detailed list of all changes to existing content.
Content Changes
Here is a full list of the changes:

Billy la bufanda

  • I changed "deliciosas" to "encantadoras".
  • I removed Billy's suggestive eyebrow raising.
  • When Billy goes to the pharmacy, I swapped out the prescription pill bottle for one that looks like an aspirin bottle.
  • I re-exported and re-mastered the video at 4k. The video is also far less choppy now, and you'll notice that smoothness in particular when the camera zooms in at the basketball game.
Guapo

  • Víctor no longer leans Katie against the wall. To replace the footage, I found some long-lost footage of Víctor.
El banco

  • The detective no longer whispers in Margarita's ear.
  • The detective no longer slams Federico against the wall.
  • The video has been completely color-corrected. For years, teachers have complained that El banco was a little too dark for classroom projectors. This change will make the video significantly easier to show in class.
  • Due to the visual changes (in particular the removal of the whispering), I had to re-record some audio. And in doing so, I used the opportunity to slightly tweak and improve certain pronunciation.
¡PAN!

  • The opening dinner scene has been color-corrected to better reflect Bo and family's real skin color (instead of the blotchy red color that was a result of me not knowing how to properly color-correct back in the day).
  • Some audio has been re-recorded, resulting in significant pronunciation improvements.
And that's it! Some of you will agree with these changes. Some will disagree. Some will wish I went even further. Quite simply, these are the versions of the videos that I prefer, and I'm really excited to release them.
Almost Sold Out!
Question Word Posters
2 weeks ago, we put our popular collection of question word posters back on sale for the first time in nearly two years.

Well, I have good news and bad news.

The bad news is that we misjudged demand, and our initial order is almost sold out. We have less than 100 remaining.

The good news is that we have already put in a re-order, and we will have more in stock in November.

But if you would like to get your poster set immediately, please act fast since we anticipate selling out of the first order within the next couple of days.

This collection contains ten 11"x11" double-sided, extremely durable, laminated posters.  Each one contains the interrogative alongside a beautiful, Billy-themed illustration. Flip it over and find the identical poster containing the English translation.

But we didn't simply re-print this collection. If we were going to bring them out of retirement after almost 2 years, we decided it was time to adjust a few things:

First, the font is larger and easier to read.
Cuándo poster
Second, we completely changed the ¿Cuál? illustration to better clarify its meaning.
Cuál poster
Third, Gorro now looks like Gorro!
De qué color poster
And did I mention that these posters are durable? We know you plan to regularly move/flip them, and so we used a thick card stock and high-quality laminate that can handle the abuse from heavy classroom usage.

Also, these posters are matte laminated, which means you get all the advantages of traditional lamination (minimal damage from water, tape, or handling), but without the nasty glare that prevents students from reading at certain angles.

Having visual aides for question words is essential in all classrooms. Interrogatives are some of the most challenging beginner language to acquire, but lack of acquisition causes immediate blockages to comprehension. Are students not understanding the question you just asked? A lot of the time, it's because they're still stuck on the question word.

Providing these fun visual aides are just the ticket for ensuring student comprehension.
