Sometimes students just won’t sing.
For this reason, I created my very first music videogame.
Play Sr. Wooly’s New Videogame
Essentially, the game is a fast-paced version of a cloze activity. While listening to the song and reading the lyrics, blanks appear, and students must click on the best answer. However, there are a few major differences:
1) Everything is Randomized. Students could play this game 1,000 times and never see the same game twice.
2) Difficulty Levels. Differentiation is built into the application with difficulty levels at Fácil, Moderado, or Difícil.
3) It’s Independent. Students can play this activity in the computer lab or at home with almost no instruction necessary.
4) It’s Fun. While cloze activities are wonderful, students tire of them. My videogame provides a unique alternative that is fast-paced, competitive and enjoyable.
Honestly, the best way to learn about the game is to play it.
In addition to the game, the application also has a secondary feature:
Karaoke
The Karaoke feature is similar to my old karaoke tool. However, it has a ton of improvements including:
- Full-screen mode
- Fast load times
- The ability to turn vocals on and off without restarting the song
- The ability to see the upcoming lyrics in addition to the line currently being sung
Access to the Videogames
The game for ¿Puedo Ir Al Baño? is free for all users. However, all other songs from this point on will be restricted to subscribers of full-site access. I will be releasing a new song every 1-2 weeks.
This game is a work in progress, so feel free to leave comments below with your thoughts on the game.

I teach Spanish 3 and 4 and all of my students seem to love your site. I think some of them might have even bought Billy the Bufanda on ITunes. I notice that they will play your games if they have a few minutes left over from doing an activity. Keep up the good work!!
